Non-woven Geotextile Liners in Landfills Project

Non-woven geotextile is abbreviated as non-woven fabric, which is a necessary material for the anti-seepage design and construction of landfills. It is made of polyester textile fiber and reinforced by mechanical (needling) methods.

According to the material type, it is divided into long fiber non-woven geotextile and short fiber non-woven geotextile. Considering the mechanical properties (tensile strength, tear strength, burst strength and tensile elongation) and other factors of sanitary landfills, most of them use non-woven long fiber geotextile.

The non-woven long fiber geotextile can be applied in landfills as follows.

1) The non-woven geotextile is laid on the leachate drainage layer or hot-bonded on the HDPE leachate drainage pipe to form a three-dimensional composite drainage unit, which intercepts garbage particles and allows the liquid to pass through the non-woven fabric to play a role of isolation and filtration.

2) On the side slope of the garbage dump, non-woven geotextiles are laid on and under the main impermeable liner to reinforce and protect the impermeable liner from being broken. At the same time, it also increases the friction angle and runoff diversion.

3) At the bottom of the garbage dump, non-woven fabrics are laid on the top and bottom of the main impermeable liner to prevent the impermeable liner from being broken by external forces.
