Anti-seepage Membranes Continuously Used in New Application Field
The thicker anti-seepage geomembrane has the anti-seepage effect even better than expected. In 1990s, the anti-seepage geomembrane of the cofferdam for the Three Gorges Project was also used. The anti-seepage project of Hanjiang Water Control Project used 1.2 million square meters of anti-seepage film, including HDPE anti-seepage film, LDPE anti-seepage film, geomembrane and composite geomembrane.
In the 21st century China, with the development of industry and science, the thickness of the anti-seepage film produced in China can reach 3mm and the width can reach 8m, which is currently at the level of grace.
At present, China's national defense membrane production base is mainly distributed in developed cities in East China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong and other cities. Now the anti-seepage membrane has been widely used in major anti-seepage projects, such as: artificial lakes, golf courses, landfills, tailings treatment stations, tunnels, high-speed rail anti-skid layers, aquaculture, gardening and petrochemical industries.
Nowadays, the National Geosynthetics Research Institute is continuously developing new applications of anti-seepage membranes.
