Why Jiantong Geotextiles can be Used for Long-time Filtration Project?
In order to allow the selected geotextiles to play the effective role in long-term filtration, certain requirements should be placed on the geotextiles. As in the past when granular soil (sand gravel) was used as the filter layer, the particle size of the soil should meet certain criteria. Jiantong made the following requirements for the geotextiles used as a filter:
Under the action of the water flow, the soil particles to be protected must not be taken away by the water flow, that is, they need to have "soil-retaining properties" in order to prevent pipe damage.
The water flow must be able to smoothly pass through the fabric plane, that is, it needs to have "water permeability" to prevent the excessive osmotic pressure generated by the accumulated water.
The pore size of the geotextiles cannot be blocked by the soil particles entrained by the water flow, that is, it must be "anti-blocking" in order to avoid the failure of the filter action.
