Geomembrane is the main body of the anti-seepage layer, but as long as the geomembrane cannot complete the anti-seepage function. The geomembrane impermeable layer should include geomembrane, maintenance layer and support layer.
The maintenance layer is used to protect against waves washing, wind and sand erosion, damage to humans and animals, damage to freezing, ultraviolet radiation, tilting of the wind, and lifting of the water pressure under the membrane.
Plain soil, sand and gravel, concrete slabs, mortar block stones and dry block stones are commonly used in general projects such as access roads and reservoirs. Among them, plain soil is the most common. Concrete slabs and masonry need to be cushioned. The cushions are made of plain soil, sand and non-sharp gravel.
The geotextile outside the composite geomembrane itself is a good cushion layer, and at the same time, it can sweep away the water above the geomembrane and maintain a stable structure. The maintenance layer of the earth-rock dam is made of concrete slab, dry block stone, mortar block stone, etc.
